THE HOP SH BAM CONNECTION – Friday & Saturday
This quintet plays the real swing from the period between the 20 ties and 50 ties. They are from Belgium!
The biggest inspiration is the repertoire of the marvellous ballrooms of the thirties, as for example the savoy ballroom in New York. Hop – sh- bam plays tunes on which lindy hop dancers could go crazy. The quintet plays the beautiful standards of the swing –era, and also some tunes of the exciting bigband period, or even some tunes of the new Orleans repertoire, more Charleston inspired. Let’s call it : an excellent band, full of energy, whit a big focus on the pure art of swinging music. Nice to listen, nice to dance on it.
Marie – Anne Standaert : trumpet and vocals
Alec Lagrange : reed instruments
Stijn Wauters : piano and vocals
Bas Gommeren : double bas
Toon Van Dionant : drums
THE CORNER SWING ORCHESTRA – Thursday
They are from Gothenburg and are a bunch of dancers / musicians / DJs. Let’s introduce The Corner Swing Orchestra.
Schabbauer trio – Saturday
Schabbauer3 is a trio that has played jazz music in many different contexts in recent years, maybe we have already seen on Forum, Nefertiti or Yaki Da? With playfulness and swing, they take on goodies from the American songbook. The trio looks very much forward to play at the Auktionsverket on March 28! Schabbauer3 consists of Hampus Eiderström Swahn guitar, Björn Peterson bass and Julia Schabbauer on drums.
